“Bringing it Home” 2005

2 tons of dried clay tubes stuffed into hundreds of fatigues were strewn across the floor of the museum. 10 Iraq-bound ROTC students lie amongst the ‘bodies.’ The audience walked on the bodies, their feet breaking through the clay tubes under their weight.  The floors, walls and ceiling were all covered in thick black plastic entombing the room giving a suffocating ‘body bag’ like feeling.  The industrial lighting fixtures were hung low disallowing any light in the room above waist level.
