“Shelter # 5 - The Cotton Candy House” (taken 1 month after the opening)-2008

This precursor to ‘Eat Me - The Animal Self’ was significant in its timing.  The opening occurred shortly after the huge burst in the global real estate market, foreshadowing our recent fiscal recession.  Also pertinent are my quandaries over independence in relation to social structures, the center of which, in my culture, is the family.  The physical structure for the family is the home.  By using cotton candy I subverted this structure deeming it useless as a shelter, but rich with easily digestible fodder.
